This poem was posted by a friend of Greg’s and it stopped him in his tracks. He wasn’t sure if it was a random share or if the father wrote it to the son or vice versa, but it’s better than that.
The poem was written by the father’s 13-year-old son for a project. He wrote it from the fatherhood point of view. It’s powerful and wise and will resonate with you.

Father to Son
Well, son, here’s what I think:
Life is hard;
Life will push you down;
The people who get back up are the ones who succeed.
I didn’t get the easy ride climbing the mountain–
Sometimes you will tire;
Sometimes you will collapse;
Sometimes you will lose your grip;
But sometimes you will reach the top.
Looking at what you conquered,
Feeling unstoppable,
Not letting anyone push you down
When you go into the world:
Positivity,
Kindness,
Hard work,
Family,
Love.
Just stopping to let all of the stress off your shoulders
Taking a walk in nature
Life is hard;
Life will push you down;
But the people who get back up,
Thrive.
