The Road to an Easy Life Begins with Intentional Challenge
By Greg Scheinman

Every once in a while, you’ve got to just stop, take a beat, and look at what’s going on all around you.
We end up in perpetual motion. We set goals and start chasing them. We say we’re going to do things and then we say we’re not going to do other things. Next thing we know, it all gets muddled, cloudy and messy, no matter how hard we try to keep it simple.
I was asked the other day on a podcast I was doing with the amazing Jen Cohen
“What’s the hardest part?”
And I asked, “The hardest part of what?”
She said, “The hardest part of all this change, growth, transformation.”
And I had to stop and think. I hadn’t been asked that before.
My answer was two things:
First, it’s all hard. Success is hard. Failure is hard. And everything in between is hard.
Second, the hardest part is in the doing.
It’s in waking up every day, no matter what, and continuing to put your best foot forward and take action.
We’re not always motivated. We’re not always inspired. We don’t always feel our best.
Even with discipline, we still have to push ourselves. There’s always a reason not to. An easier button to press. A shortcut to take. An excuse to make.
The hard part is in the doing and in the acceptance that we’ll never really graduate from any of this. There’s no finish line.
Growth, evolution, transformation and this journey we’re all on, is hard.
But it’s worth it.
“Stand on Your Business”. I read that recently in Liz Plosser’s new newsletter “Best Case Scenario”.
(SIDE NOTE: I’ve noticed I’m learning a lot from middle-aged women lately…)
“The gist of her comment is: Mean what you say. Do what you said. No wobbling. No making yourself smaller. No ghosting your standards or goals. Just standing tall in your power.”
On that note, I tell my clients all the time:
“Run your life like you run your business.” You’d never accept underperforming quarter after quarter in business, so why do we accept it in our lives?”
Lately, I’ve been on a whirlwind. And I’ve constantly had to remind myself of my own message.
So many opportunities. All amazing. All unexpected.
In the first half of the year I did:
The Habits and Hustle Podcast with Jen Cohen—amazing.
Gabby Reece’s podcast—Bucket list amazing.
And then there’s the travel:
LA with my son Harper and wife Kate for LMU Orientation.
Jacksonville for an event.
Denver for an event.
NYC for an event.
My son Harper’s graduation and then going through Europe for three weeks.
I signed a deal to facilitate a week at Modern Elder Academy and now I actually have to write the curriculum plan and do it.
We’re in mid-July already. Halftime’s over.
I was also on a guest panel at the Athletech News Innovation Summit in NYC, spoke at the Founders Club event and completed 29029 for a fourth time.
These aren’t humble brags. These are facts.
This is my life. I asked for it.
I’m built for it.
I love it.
But does that make it any less hard?
No, it doesn’t.
And that… that’s the joy in all of it.
Because what’s the point of an easy accomplishment?
When it’s easy, you haven’t really accomplished anything.
Here are two of my favorite quotes that remind me of that:
“If you want an easy life, do hard things. If you want a hard life, keep avoiding them.” – Jerzy Gregorek
“Hard choices, easy life. Easy choices, hard life.” – Naval Ravikant
Do the work.
In Health,
Greg

Midlife Lately:

These are the messages I get that make me the happiest. When stories connect with readers and when my coaching clients have breakthroughs.
If you’re interested in working with me, I coach a select few men 1:1 and we meet weekly. We talk, we connect, we collaborate on all 6Fs, work through the 5 rules I’ve created and design a Midlife Action Plan for a life that feels like living.

Last week I interviewed Mike Lazerow who sold Buddy Media to Salesforce for $725M, founded Golf.com, and just dropped the NYT bestseller Shoveling Shit with his wife Kass.
And guess what? You could’ve been there.
That’s what MLM Live is all about. Every time I sit down for an interview, you’re invited in, not just to listen, but to participate. Ask questions. Engage. Learn.
These conversations have changed my life in midlife. They’re raw, real, and rooted in the 6 F’s. No fluff. No promo tour repetition. Just high-level guys talking about what works and what doesn’t.
We go narrow and deep. We go shallow and wide. We talk money and marriage, sunglasses and supplements, leadership and longevity. It’s irreverent. It’s insightful. It’s real talk for grown men figuring it out.

Why I Made the Switch to Nads Underwear (And You Should Too)

For years, I treated underwear like an afterthought. It was just something underneath everything else—who cared what I was wearing down there? But that mindset completely changed when I discovered what I'd been putting my body through.
The wake-up call came when I realized the underwear I'd been wearing (and my sons had been wearing) was actually working against our health. Poor materials, harsh chemicals, toxins—all sitting right against the most sensitive parts of our bodies. Not good for testosterone, not good for sperm health, not good for reproduction. The stuff that's supposed to be closest to your skin was potentially the worst thing for it.
When Nads reached out, I figured I'd give it a try. But honestly? I still didn't think it would make much difference.
I was completely wrong.
From day one, the difference was obvious. These looked great, felt incredible, and were actually comfortable throughout the day. But here's the real kicker—they're legitimately the best-in-class underwear for men's health. They checked every box I didn't even know I should be looking for.
Now I'm exclusive to Nads. My boys (18 and 21) wear them every day because their futures matter to me. As they become young men thinking about having families of their own, their health is my priority. And for me at 52, this is about longevity, sustainability, optimization—living and leading by example.
Here's what I've learned works:
-
Boxer briefs for workouts, hikes, and adventures (they run small—I wear large)
-
Boxers for everyday, especially in hot Texas summers—breathable, loose but well-fitting, no bunching, no extra fabric under your pants
They come in great colors, deliver exceptional value, and perform exactly as promised.
Bottom line: This isn't just about underwear anymore. It's about making choices that support your health, your performance, and your future.
I'm all in on Nads. You should be too.
