I’m serious about what I put in my body, but not all that serious because that doesn’t seem like a really fun way to live.  I drink a lot of milk.  There are all sorts of opinions out there on dairy, alternatives to milk, and so on.  I wanted to share with you the three types of milk that are always in the refrigerator here at our house – and tackle the topic of raw milk.

But first, here are my go-to sources of milk.

Fairlife

I absolutely love this. This is actually my favorite of the three. It’s only 120 calories per cup and 13g of protein. It is lactose-free. It is ultra-filtered. It is really, really smooth, and my stomach does great with this.

Malk

I don’t know if you actually call this milk because it’s from almonds It is an almond milk, 70 calories per eight fluid ounces. But there’s only two grams of protein in this one. It’s a little bit more watery than the others, but it’s really, really good. And I drink it pretty regularly with cereal, coffee, and in my smoothies, especially if I’m adding other protein powder, fruits, and Greek yogurt to cream it up a little bit.

A2

We’ve gotten really into this in the house. For us and the boys, I really like it. It’s only 120 calories per cup. The protein is in the middle between Fairlife and Malk at eight grams. There’s no sugar, and it has a great flavor. It’s really delicious, and I like this one a lot. The boys actually like this one the best.

When I shared about my three favorite milks on Instagram, I got hit with this comment about raw milk:

So, then, I went to a trusted doctor who specializes in obesity and nutrition, and here’s what he had to say in response:

Look, there’s always another level.  A different take.  A “better” way, product, or “do this, not that” opinion.

Make the choice that’s best for you. To me, this is majoring in the minors. I’m good with the milk options here, I don’t need to go down the raw milk path.

The joy of life? I reserve the right to change my mind, though. And so should you. If something changes, I’ll be the first to let ya know.
