Welcome to The Middle, the mid-week newsletter where I share real stories directly from me to you.

NFL Hall of Famer and Entrepreneur Troy Aikman read my book Midlife Male and says that, “he has been inspired and encourages all men to do the same. Greg talks the talk and he walks the walk. You won’t be disappointed.”

Midlife Lately: A Spring Gut Check of Milestones, Mentality & Managing Emotion

By Greg Scheinman

May was a rollercoaster. June is shaping up to be just as wild.

I kicked things off in Jacksonville with my business partner and editor-in-chief. We paddleboarded, biked, ate well, and—most importantly—had deep, honest conversations about what’s working at Midlife Male and what’s not. It was a mix of strategy and serenity. These get-togethers? Crucial. Energizing. And just plain fun.

Client Wins That Hit Home

One of my clients dropped 7 pounds just in time for his son’s engagement party. Now we’re chasing 15. We meet weekly for 3-mile walks—talking life, building his Midlife Action Plan brick by brick.

Another client, unemployed for over a year, now has three job offers. The shift? Not a radical overhaul—just consistent mindset work. When your outlook changes, your life follows.

I also caught up with a former client who moved states, left a business partnership, and reset his family life. Hearing that he’s thriving? That’s the payoff. That’s why I do this.

Family First

My oldest son Auden came home from Italy. We’ve been boxing, shooting, walking the dogs, and just hanging out. I missed him more than I realized. He heads into his senior year of college this fall, and I’m soaking in every second.

My youngest son, Harper, has been traveling through Poland and Greece on his senior trip. He’ll graduate high school any day now, and man, this empty nest transition is starting to feel real—and emotional.

Training, Tuning In, and Turning Inward

I’m ramping up for my fourth 29,029 event. But my focus isn’t just on finishing—it’s on longevity. How I feel. How I recover. I’ve gotten back in the pool with XPT, where underwater training demands presence. No distractions. No phone. Just breath, body, and being fully in the moment.

That’s the goal now: more presence, less pressure.

Pressing Pause to Move Forward

I’ve made some calls lately to simplify and sharpen focus. First up: I’m pressing pause on the Midlife Male podcast. Not forever—but for now. The newsletter and digital magazine are thriving. That’s where I serve best. That’s where I love to be.

That said, I’ll be guesting on more shows than ever. When I share my story on someone else’s mic, I grow this mission. More books sold. More clients. More connection. It’s a win on every level.

Saying No to What Doesn’t Fit

I’ve turned down a few lucrative brand deals lately. Why? Because they weren’t aligned. I don’t want to be a 52-year-old influencer pushing products I don’t use or believe in. I want control over the message. That’s what Midlife Male stands for: honest reviews, real recommendations, vetted partnerships.

If you see it here, you can trust it. Period.

The Month Ahead: Milestones and Gut Checks

This month is a big one. Harper’s graduation. Auden’s return to Boulder. Speaking gigs in New York and Denver. My fourth 29,029 climb in Jackson Hole. And yes—a colonoscopy. That last one is a midlife punchline I didn’t see coming… but it’s necessary.

That’s midlife: pride and perspective, joy and gravity. All of it showing up at once.

The Work Is the Way

Some days, it feels like it’s all clicking. Other days, I’m spinning my wheels. Too slow. Not enough. But this is the life we asked for. This is the work.

Progress is a process.

And you either define midlife—or it defines you.

Let’s keep going.

In Health,

Greg

Making the Rounds:

Watch/Listen to Greg’s Bucket List Appearance on the Gabby Reece Show

This is a major highlight for me. I’ve been a fan of Gabrielle Reece and Laird Hamilton for a long time and it was a pleasure and privilege to join them in Kauai for an XPT Life experience earlier this year and train alongside them.

Getting to join Gabby on her podcast, share my story and talk about my book and Midlife Male is something I’m very proud of. And we covered a lot of ground, including my 5 rules, 6Fs and 1 question that will help men transform from mediocre to maximized in midlife. This is a huge moment for what we’re building at MLM and I’m deeply grateful for all the support. Have a listen:
