Fashion is also about function. If you’ve been reading this newsletter, you know that I, along with 15 of my friends and fellow Midlife Males (and a few of our female partners) recently took part in the 29029 Everesting Challenge.  

When you’re embarking on a 36-hour hike, you need the right gear. I got him all our sizes and he and his team provided us with exactly what we needed. I’m extremely particular about my shorts. I prefer shorts with liners instead of the type that are more boxer brief style as they ride up and chafe.  

The Ten Thousand liner shorts are the best I’ve worn.  They also have a great waistband that doesn’t bunch or cinch too tightly.  The tactical shorts have a rugged fabric and exactly the right pockets.  I’m 5’9 175 and the mediums fit me perfectly.  The shirt, I sized to a large. I wanted a bit more breathing room. It was comfortable, wicked sweat away and had no annoying seams, tags or anything interfering.  

My favorite item was the pullover. This was super comfortable, form fitting, warm but not suffocating and looks great. It was perfect under my rain gear, when it got cold and windy. It moved with me, wasn’t restrictive at all and the zip was great as I could adjust based on if I was getting warm or cold.
