My number one home gym recommendation is a pair of reliable, adjustable dumbbells. These from Smrtft are the best I’ve found and they go all the way up to 80lbs.
The downside (which is really an upside, if you think about it) is that you can’t drop them. If you do, they’ll break.
So you have to really control the weight, which leads to having more self control, better form and ultimately less chance for injury. These aren’t those rubber, indestructible DBs that you can smash around like a 25 year old CrossFitter chasing a PR on a WOD that really doesn’t matter (sorry, not sorry), but they’re easy as hell to use and they’ll last forever. The weight goes up or down by turning the handle of the dumbbell in the cradle and the plates click into place. Done.
